Framed by Shards

A woman from Chapel Hill was at the Centerfest in Durham today. She was selling shards frames. She has people pick for her in vintage dumps. They find old blue and white pottery, then she breaks them up even more and puts them in a tumbler to soften the edges and take off the sheen.
Then she glues them onto mirror frames.
I love the cup handle still attached.
We got hooked into buying this.
She also sells them on etsy. In addition to the blue and white china, she also has frames made from vintage glass that she has tumbled. Some mostly clear glass, but whitened by the tumbling.  Others a sea green glass.  They were all beautiful.

I love this mirror and the broken ceramic. I noticed that alot of the inner border is the blue and white Polish Bunzlauer pottery. We've had Polish friends bring it over as gifts, but you can find it at Home Goods.

You know, I do have your black, Choose You This Day picture hanging here in my office to comtemplate daily!
