Lucy Loved These Diamond Centers--Star Giveaway

As I was making these stars, Lucy and Hazel came in and each picked up a "diamond and took it over to the window and oohed and aawed as they noticed multiples of everything they looked at through the faceted glass.
I've got 5 of these stars on my Etsy shop and I'm giving one away to the person who makes the cleverest comment. Deadline is midnight, August 22.

"Can we pretend that airplanes in the diamond sky are like Lucy's stars? I could really use a new star now, new star now, new star now. Can we pretend that airplanes in the diamond sky are like Hazel's stars? I could really use a new star now, new star now, new star now."

Wish Upon A Star

Your stars are lovely,
And magical, too.
So I'm making a wish:
A new job ... for you!

(I saw the subtitle on your blog and was inspired!)

a beautiful star to represent the beautiful girl that inspired it.

I am not clever! I might just have to buy the star!

Gorgeous star, gorgeous girl!

Star light, star bright
Lucy's Star, I see tonight.
I wish I may, I wish I might
Find such a star in my own sight.

Vhari said...

Oh please give it to me. It's gorgeous! Almost as gorgeous as its namesake. (Does sucking up count as clever). No really, I'm in love.

Wesley said...

In our move some of our beauties broke:( they still look so lovely but a new one would be perfect.

After reading through them all, Katy's is the one that seemed the cleverest to me. :)

The star is beautiful and I would love it...or any of them really.

A diamond gifted always shines brighter than one you could buy for yourself.

The beauty of stars has inspired poets, hopeless romantics, and artists since the beginning of time, when in reality the light that shines eternally alludes to its Maker, who shares so many pieces of His handiwork with us.

It's not sacrilegious if I say that the Maker is you in this case sharing his handiwork with us=me? :)If so, scratch that reference and a preemptive thank you for the reminder of the True Maker's power!

Pretty sure we saw a star shining bright above the skies of Hwa Gok on the night you tripped on the stairs in "Star" Bucks! Stars were visible as you blushed as those little Korean girls cleaned the hot cocoa off of the window pane! :) Oh the memories! Love you both!

These must cast the most beautiful colors from the sun! My little ones love to dance in the shine of prisms. It's the closest they get to becoming a rainbow. :)

I would much rather see these than the ones I see when my kids clobber me with their toys. I'm here from your daughter's blog... how fun to find yours!

You should totally give one to your witty daughter, Katy.

i would like to leave you a clever comment but it would be in french (easier for me...)

quand je regarde dans le ciel et que je vois des million d'étoiles, je me rappelle la chance d'avoir
des enfants avec les yeux aussi brillants que les étoiles.

i would like to hang it in my window in Canada. It would look bright with the snow and the sun for all the seasons that we have !!

I may have many good qualities; however being clever may not be one of them! I am kind though, and hope you find a job you love very soon!

Emily said...

I don't know...with such large bling I might be tempted to skip the window and hang this around my neck.

Applause all around and over and through. I'm wishing on a star for you.

"Would you like to swing on a star
carry moonbeams home in a jar
and be better off than you are
or would you rather be a WINNER"

I know... it doesn't rhyme but either does any of the animals that usually are in the place of the word WINNER.

I use to have a cockatiel that we would sing this song to.... she would sing along in her own way but always climbed on her swing as we sang.... such a happy time for her :)

These stars are stunning !

The stars in the sky,
The clouds up above,
With this quilt,
I give you my love.

A poem I wrote to label the quilt I gave to my first daughter. (One fabric had stars and another clouds).

My east facing window pleaded with me to put her name into the hat. Hope she wins. Her name is "Ventana."

DJ Rose said...

I've already mentioned that I have a Lucy.

My Lucy's favorite song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. When she was young we would sing:

Twinkle Twinkle Little Lucy
How I wonder how you got so juicy
Up above the world so high
Like a diamond in the sky
Twinkle twinkle Little Lucy,
How I wonder how you got so juicey.

Her East window would love a shining star.

Um, wow. Those are really cool. For some reason, they remind me of something I would see on American Chopper.

Look to your star,
now look at Me,
now back to your star,
now back to ME.
Sadly, your star isn't mine
but if you put it in a box and sent it to me, it could be mine.

Look down,
back up.
Where are you?
You're in a post office
with the star you want to send me.
Whats in your hand?
(back at me)
I have it--
it's a box with space for your star.
Look again: the space is now filled with a diamond!
Anything is possible when you give a star to me.
I'm on a computer chair.

definitely lacking in clever factor, but would love to add this beauty factor to my window :)

When you wish upon a star...
Makes no difference who you are...
Anything your heart desires...
Will come to you...

Maybe if you wish on these stars you will have all the things you want...including a job:)

Upon moving into our new home a few years ago, I was heartbroken to find the star that sweet Jordan gave our baby girl had been crushed in the moving van. Truly heartbroken. It was beautiful and so are these. Such amazing talent flows through your family. You are so very blessed.

It makes me think of Pollyanna and painting with rainbows. Maybe I am just fresh from church, but we sang "Every Star is Different" and I like your style. Does that count as clever?

Lovely....Lucy mixed with a little Madonna. An odd combo but it actually works.

Once upon a time there lived a young couple in New Orleans who was given a beautiful ruby star by some very special friends. They hung it in their kitchen window and loved the way it sparkled in the morning light. When it was time to move from this magical place, they carefully wrapped their star and journeyed to a new land. But alas, the star was destroyed. The young couple was saddened. And although they loved their new abode, they would often look at their sunny kitchen window and long for their sparkling star.

It was my 10th anniversary last week. We are at a family reunion so we havent celebrated yet. My husband is in LOVE with your stars. If I were to win, I would present it to him with this quote.
