D.C. Proper

You've all seen the Washington Monument, but have you seen...

FDR's?  That's Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He was elected to 4! terms as President of the U.S. in the 30's and 40's. During the World War II, people would listen to his "fireside chat" on the radio.
More of FDR's Memorial.
"I HATE WAR".  So do I. It seems of late, that our leaders love war.
The FDR Memorial meanders along the Potomac river, created mostly from large blocks of stone. It incorporates quotes from FDR incised into the granite(?), bronze statues, and this bas relief.
Double life-size bornze of FDR and his scotty.
Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, his wife, and a woman of great leadership and insight. She was involved in the beginnings of the U.N.
The Jefferson Memorial is a brief walk down the Potomac from the FDR Memorial.
Powerful quote from Thomas Jefferson.
Huge thistle head along the river.
Not all statues are serious in Washington.
