Hello? Hello? Hello?

KEEP YOUR EARS COVERED!
We went out in 17 degree weather to help
in a 3rd grade class this morning. We reached
the subway stop, then exit 8 called for our
liaison and she was to call back with info.
Then our phone died! Cold and dead (it
was dead, we were cold). We waited for
45 minutes, but no one showed. We told the
subway home, plugged in the phone and
it rang. "Where are you?" she asked.
"Please come back. The children are
waiting for you." We couldn't resist the plea.
We got there and 9 students were waiting for us
in the cold classroom with their shoes off and their coats on.
We visited with them. Asked their names, and where
they were going for the Lunar New Year to visit grandparents.
We gave them conversation hearts from America and talked about
Valentines Day. They are 10 and 11 years old. Very cute, and
quite precocious. We will visit them again next Friday.

We did that in one of my areas too; taught (or attempted to teach) English to active little hak-seng. So much fun!

Thanks for bringing back good memories! You guys are troopers.
